About Feed The Hungry

Feed The Hungry is a person to person, church to church programme responding to the scriptural mandate to care for the poor, strengthen the church, and reach the lost.

Since 1987 Feed the Hungry has delivered over £125 million GBP of relief supplies to over 92 nations worldwide.

With the provisions and prayers of our partners and friends Feed The Hungry can help supply food and relief items directly to the world’s hungriest people.

Our three core activities are:

with local churches and ministries in the third world. We empower the local church as they reach out to their communities.

• Disaster Relief

Through an established network of churches and ministries, we are able to respond quickly when

natural disasters strike around the world.

• EveryChild EveryDay

Started in 2005, FTH has set a goal to feed 100,000 children. Supporting established orphanages and ministries focused on children, we relieve their daily burden of providing food.

Feed the Hungry is uniquely different in that we directly oversee the entire relief process, making sure your contributions get into the hands of those who need it most. Before a food distribution takes place, we secure guarantees from the appropriate government agencies, giving us the rights to distribute food directly through local churches. Local pastors and churches understand and know the people and conditions within their community! Under the direction and leadership of Feed the Hungry, distribution plans are created and implemented so the people receive the food as intended. Its founder Dr. Lester Sumrall (1913-1996) travelled the world as a missionary statesman for over sixty years and saw first-hand the terrible suffering caused by hunger and poverty. In 1987, he rose to the challenge to feed those innocent people who are plagued by such desperate situations. With enthusiasm and determination, Dr. Sumrall founded LeSEA Global Feed The Hungry® that same year.

Feed The Hungry UK

Now under the leadership of Peter Sumrall LeSEA Global Feed the Hungry® has a strong network of international offices that help provide relief to those in need due to famine, drought, flood, war, or other natural disaster. In August 2005 FTHUK was incorporated as a registered charity in the UK and is now under the direction of Gwyn Williams. Today the UK office plays a vital role as a voice of hope and compassion to the hurting and the hungry – changing the world one person at a time!
