A member of the UCB team will be travelling…

Nepal Emergency Appeal.

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

Hello We need your help. In the last week torrential rain has hit southern Nepal and thousands have been displaced from their homes. More rain is forecast, and officials are still trying to get information from the more remote areas. The floods have wiped out the crops which would have provided food and a source of income for the families affected. Thanks to the partnerships we already have in place, working with people like local pastor Ruben Rasaili, we are able to get aid to those remote areas quickly, but…

Q&A with Pete

Monday, September 7, 2015

Q: What challenges did you see people facing on your recent trip to Burkina Faso? A: Burkina Faso is one of Africa’s poorest countries, on the edge of the desert, with lots of sandstorms. Very little rain, very little water. It’s difficult for people to be self-sustaining with enough food. Q: Why do kids and the disabled here especially need our help? A: If a mother dies at childbirth, her baby is designated “evil” because the child “killed” the mother. A lot of the kids we’re feeding came to us…

Nepal Earthquake Update: “Who is this God who gives so generously to us in our need?”

Monday, September 7, 2015

“Who is this God who gives so generously to us in our need?” That’s what Nepalese earthquake victims were asking as we distributed the food and aid that you made possible! The earthquake in Nepal on April 25 devastated thousands of people, but you enabled us to distribute food and other essential relief to many heartbroken villagers in May. Your gifts brought the love of Jesus to traumatized villagers still living in tents amid rubble, still grieving the loss of loved ones, still rocked by aftershocks. They were amazed and…

Emerging Crisis in South Sudan

Thursday, April 24, 2014

More than 93,000 refugees from South Sudan have fled to Uganda since December 2013. Rebel fighting within South Sudan has killed more than 10,000 and displaced over a million people. The UN has warned that the unfolding humanitarian crisis could be “the worst starvation in Africa since the 1980s, when hundreds of thousands of people died in Ethiopia’s famine.” Feed the Hungry is addressing the emergency by stepping out in faith to provide prepared daily meals to 7,527 Sudanese refugee children at 10 locations within the Kiryandongo Refugee Resettlement, one of…

This child is fed every evening, along with 88 other kids in a very poor district. Subsistence farming has been very challenging due to drought over last several years so the chance to eat before going to sleep means alot to the community.
