Over 100 people are reported to have been killed and over 4000 have been injured from debris falling from damaged buildings.
Feed The Hungry’s partner in Lebanon, Life Centre Beirut, operates a feeding programme for refugee children and a soup kitchen for local people who are struggling financially. Their building was impacted by the explosion, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage and forcing the programmes to stop at a time when they are going to be needed more than ever.
Feed The Hungry is working to get Life Centre back into a functioning state so that they can start responding to the desperate needs that people are now facing in the aftermath of this tragic incident.
