So far in 2018 we have held packing events in Woolwich, Dulwich, Central London and most recently in Coventry. These packing days are a wonderful opportunity for volunteers from businesses, churches and community groups to get together and play a practical role in the aid giving process. Men, women, children, whole families, bishops, cleaners and CEO’s gather together to be part of something that gives life and ensures the continuation provision of a hot daily meal to over 175,000 children around the world every day.
We have already have seen the positive impact these events have had on the lives of those in FTH projects around the world. As containers arrive in places like Zimbabwe, school attendance rises and children are safe. They no longer have to work on garbage dumps picking up anything that could be sold or recycled, but instead are sitting in a resourced classroom dreaming of the future, the careers they could have and the people they could help.
In addition to this the children are invited to hear the good news of Christ’s gospel, respond to this message and learn more about how Jesus journeys with them in day to day life.
This is the eternal impact of a few packing events. So far in 2018 we have packed over 200,000 meals. Imagine what 400,000 could do. What about 1 million.
