Emergency Appeal: Turkana, Kenya

Parts of Turkana, in northern Kenya, are currently in a ‘Phase 4’ Food Emergency. This is the final step before a formal famine declaration – it is the last window of opportunity we have to stop mass starvation before it’s too late.

Right now, in Lodwar, Kenya, families are facing a hunger crisis.

The failure of the Autumn 2025 rainy season (the driest in some areas since 1981) has decimated the area.

The livestock are gone. The markets are scarce of food. And for a child in Turkana, the next meal isn’t a choice – it’s a miracle.

In response to this, Feed The Hungry is launching an emergency “Survival Lorry” appeal to move 11 tonnes of life-saving maize from Nairobi to Lodwar. It is a 500-mile journey through difficult terrain and rising insecurity, but it is a journey we have to make.

Feed The Hungry UK works through local church partners on the ground. We don’t just drop food; we journey with these families from Survival to Significance. But right now, they are stuck at survival.

Please give generously to help get food to those who desperately need it.

A regular monthly gift enables us to work with communities for the long-term, helping them move from survival to sustainability.
Thank you for your generosity. We really appreciate every donation made to help tackle the problem of hunger around the world.
