90% of Gen-Z think companies should address pressing social and environmental issues.*
This isn’t just a belief. Consumers are now more likely to seek out businesses that give back to local and international communities. They’re not just shopping; they want to change the world through their purchases.
It’s not just important for brand success either. Engaging in charitable work as a business positively impacts productivity and employee turnover. It’s good for your business, your employees – and it’s good for the communities we support.
That’s why we call our corporate engagement the World Changers Programme.

“Me and my colleagues have thoroughly enjoyed our NOUR:SH food packing event, and can’t wait to come back, even in our own time, because it has been so eye-opening and worthwhile.”
Inderpreet Johal, DAC Beachcroft

Gifts in Kind

Tesco donate a delivery van
Tesco has been a generous donor to Coventry Foodbank (operated by Feed The Hungry UK) since its inception. As part of their commitment to the 14 foodbank distribution centres across Coventry, Tesco donated a van to help transport food around the city.
It may have reached the end of its life as a workhorse for Tesco, but it has been an amazing asset for us, helping to deliver food to those most in need. Their logo remains on the vehicle in recognition of their generous gift.
Tesco’s gift is a part of our Gifts in Kind programme. Useful products, no longer needed by your business, can be repurposed or redistributed into schools, orphanages and rehabilitation centres around the world and in the UK.
Tracking your contributions
We’re committed to carefully handling the valuable assets that are donated to us. As partners in our World Changers programme, you can follow assets from source to their intended destination. You’ll receive reports of how the food or products you’ve gifted are being used in communities locally and internationally.
Gifts in kind have included a huge variety of products:
- food, supporting Coventry Foodbank, Community Pantry and feeding hungry children worldwide
- computer and network equipment, supporting education in schools
- delivery cooler bags, used to carry fresh food to market in Africa
- promotional pens, used by schools in Haiti
- tools, used by builders in Uganda
- fabric, used by tailors in Burkina Faso
Corporate Packing Events
Whether at our Central Resource Centre or in your business venue, our corporate packing events are a great way for your team to get involved with the work of Feed The Hungry.
Fun & Meaningful
team days that make a difference.
It is fun packing food. Staff are split into teams, choose a team name and race to pack the fastest. Packing milestones are celebrated with a bang on the large gong. There’s always loads of laughter and a huge sense of achievement at the end of the day.
But what your teams are doing is also meaningful. Before we begin packing, we explain where your food will be going and why the people there need food. Every box and bag you pack has a batch number, so you can track your food and see children receive their meals.

Time and again, businesses tell us how significant their food packing day was for their team. It’s Corporate Social Responsibility at its best: benefitting impoverished people across the world, strengthening staff relationships and creating a shared sense of achievement.
Corporate packing events are team days that truly make a difference.
It has been very exciting to see many local businesses come to our Central Resource Centre in the Midlands and volunteer in a NOUR:SH food packing event. Whether picking and packing food for our local foodbanks, or putting together emergency food kits for our international projects, these volunteering days are a great team-building, invigorating experience for your staff.
How it works
The NOUR:SH Events Team take care of the day for you. You’ll be allocated a meeting room to use throughout the event. Refreshments or lunch can been arranged as well. The day will look a bit like this:
- Our staff will give a presentation about our work and the impact your team’s contribution will make. Many of our NOUR:SH team have directly worked with the people who benefit from the food kits so can share first-hand stories of the difference it makes.
- Before heading out into the warehouse, you’ll be given suitable safety attire for the World Changing activity you’ll be doing that day.
- After the session, there’ll be an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the impact you’re making. Many teams want to come back for another session!
We know that not all businesses can take staff off-site for a NOUR:SH event. That’s why we can also come to you! Working with your team, our Community Events Team will arrange an on-site opportunity for your staff to become World Changers, without disrupting your business.
Why not make your packing event go further? Become part of our Million Meal Miracle by funding a school meal pack.
The perfect investment in local and international education!

Project Sponsorship

Cadent’s Christmas Commitment
The staff team at Cadent were looking for a Christmas programme to support, and they chose to pack Christmas Hampers for families struggling over the festive period.
Having had a great experience with our team, they were looking for a way to continue supporting local families. Hearing about our prototype Mobile Pantry, focussing on tackling rural poverty, they were keen to get involved.
Cadent sponsored a two year project to take the Pantry into villages and small communities in Leicestershire. Their commitment to making a positive impact on the communities around them has kickstarted this brilliant new initiative.
Project Sponsorship is a life-changing opportunity to invest in local communities and international communities around the world. Working together, we can develop programmes that reflect your products and services and are relevant to your team and customer profile. You and your team get to track the impact your project and see the world-changing impact of your sponsorship.
Funds & Skills
Mobilising Employees to Make a Difference
There are many ways to raise money through businesses, whether big or small. Some businesses, like Jaguar Land Rover and Shell Energy, run regular corporate fundraisers, raising thousands of pounds for local initiatives. Other businesses such as Make Me Available give a percentage of their profit to support our work.
Still others, such as Coventry Building Society, run sponsored events and walks.
Every business is different – and we love creative thinking to raise funds and share skills to help feed hungry people!

Our goal is to walk alongside people, families, schools and communities on a journey from survival to stability, sustainability and significance.
That’s why we, in partnership with companies and communities, create safety net programmes that provide nourishment and encourage education. Internationally, we do this through school feeding, vocational training and community farming projects, providing a way out of poverty. As well as this, we create community action plans to establish growth and sustainability.
Each of our donors invests in the lives of people living on the edge, changing their world for the better.
Sponsored events
Getting your employees and even your customers involved in sponsored events is a great way to express your desire to become World Changers. We can support you with online tools to get your team involved in raising awareness of the event, as well as information, photos and videos for your social media platforms. We’ll rejoice with you as your targets are met and celebrate the achievement of your team.
Payroll giving
Payroll giving is a way of giving money to charity without paying tax on it. It must be paid through PAYE from an employee’s wages or pension. Giving your employees this option allows them to choose how much to donate from their gross pay each month.
We can connect you with a Payroll Giving agency to set up the scheme.
Overseas trips
At Feed The Hungry UK, we really value the skills, talents, knowledge and experience that your teams can bring. These abilities can be invaluable to our overseas projects.
We can arrange trips where teams can help:
- build schools
- work on farms
- help set up micro businesses
- teach skills
- meet school children and the staff that care for them
It’s a great way to build long-term relationships with those working on the ground to improve their local communities. And it creates experiences that your staff will never forget – as well as demonstrating your business’s commitment to being a World Changer.
