Quick & Easy

Sheila’s open house
To raise money for Feed The Hungry UK, Sheila opened up her home for 3 days, selling soup, cakes and yummy treats. She had a great time of fellowship with her visitors and to top it all off she raised £1600 to help feed hungry children around the world.
It’s amazing how something as small as soup and cake can make such a difference to hundreds of lives.
There are plenty of quick, simple ways to raise money for Feed the Hungry UK, just like Sheila’s open house.
Choose an event, choose a date, tell your friends and neighbours and get started!
Top Tip #1
Set up a fundraising page with us so it’s easy for friends and family to give online. Get in touch with our team today.
- Run a cake sale: sell them in your neighbourhood, at your church, at school or at work. Yum!
- Hold a tea & coffee morning: open up your house and invite people to join you. Have fun and raise money at the same time!
- Quiz night: charge a few quid for a ticket and get your brains working with some quiz rounds.
- Dress down day: get your school or workplace to run a dress down day for a small donation.
More effort, more potential
A little goes a long way
Susan and her family were driven from their home in South Sudan by militants. After surrounding her home, they were told to run, but her husband and two of her four children were shot and killed. She escaped with the other two children to Uganda, with only what they were carrying when they ran.
Many families across the world have to flee conflict, living in poverty and risking starvation. But it only costs £48 to feed a family like Susan’s for an entire year. A small gift brings so much hope.

Eager to do something bigger? These ideas might take more effort and planning, but they have the potential to raise much more money – and give many struggling families the food and hope they desperately need.
Top Tip #2
Encourage tax payers to gift aid their donation. This adds 25p to every £1 you raise!
- Run a talent show: convince your teachers to get involved, or your boss to perform. It could even be a lip sync battle for those who can’t hold a tune! Charge a few pounds a ticket and donate the profits.
- Car boot sale: make the most of a spring clean. Sell your unwanted stuff at a car boot sale and donate the profits.
- Go busking: if you’ve got a musical talent, head out to your local high street and give it your all! Check with your council first, in case you need a licence.
- Sell flowers: gather beautiful bouquets from your garden and sell them, giving the proceeds to Feed The Hungry UK.
- Run a raffle: speak to local businesses and gather some prizes. Raffle them off at your work, school or church.
- Host a video games evening: charge entry to a knock-out competition of your favourite video game. Keep playing until you can crown the champion!
Hard-core fundraisers

Francesca and her roller skates
In 2023, Francesca threw on her wheels and raised over £460 for Feed The Hungry by roller skating.
Francesca has been volunteering at Lillington Community Pantry, a project of Feed The Hungry, since it first opened back in March 2022. She got stuck in straight away and is always keen to spend her half term and school holidays getting involved with everything going on at the Pantry. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude brings something special to the team and makes a huge difference to the work we do.
When the opportunity came around for Francesca to get involved with fundraising for Make May Matter, she jumped at the chance to get her skates on and make a difference!
Go on – stretch yourself! Go one step further with your fundraising through a sponsored challenge event. It’s a great opportunity to try something new or to tick something off your bucket list!
