Loving The Least
Christians are called to care for “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). Climate change is not just an environmental issue but a profound moral and spiritual challenge to the world today. The most vulnerable nations, often the poorest, are bearing the brunt of its impacts – rising sea levels, extreme weather, and food insecurity. These are our brothers and sisters, created in the image of God, who suffer due to a crisis they did not create.
Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25:40 reminds us that our treatment of the marginalised is a reflection of our treatment of Him: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” This is a call to take action. Caring for creation is not optional; it is an integral part of our Christian faith and witness, demonstrating our love for God and our neighbour.
