Travel Light.
Life is full of journeys. Some are short or simple; some are long or complex. Some are physical journeys – travelling from one place to another – while others are less tangible; relationships, life circumstances or health challenges. Some people choose to journey outside of their comfort-zone; some people are forced to journey out of theirs. Everyone, one way or another, is on the journey of life.
I’m struck by the words of Jesus when He sent out his disciples in Mark 6 – “Take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt.”
Jesus instructed His disciples to travel light.
There’s nothing that we bring into this life with us and we can take nothing physical with us after death. Having this in mind helps to keep perspective of what is of real value and importance; how we use our time, resources and influence, today.
