Project Updates 2024

Of the countries in which Feed The Hungry operate, about half are on the African continent. The circumstances being faced in each country are as varied as the countries themselves, but in each, there are hungry people who need support.

Burkina Faso

Victory International Ministries in Burkina Faso helps children in a school for the blind, as well as thousands of people who have been internally displaced as a result of fighting in the north of the country.

South Africa

Feed The Hungry South Africa is a new project that started in 2023. Working with local churches in a slum area of Johannesburg called ‘Princess’, the local community is being supported with food and the Gospel message is being shared. Over 400 people have already come to faith through the project.

Uganda

Feed The Hungry East Africa is the largest Every Child, Every Day programme in Africa, regularly feeding over 80,000 children and young people. Many of these are in Refugee Settlements.

In 2023, food was taken to support famished communities living in Karamoja, in the north of the country. They had experienced an extended drought and, consequently, a failed harvest, resulting in people and livestock dying of starvation. The food and seed provided by Feed The Hungry helped them through this arid time until the rains started again.

Zambia

Children at the Lukkamano School in Mazabuka, Zambia, often come from very poor homes. Feed The Hungry has been supporting the school since 2016 by helping to pay for teaching staff, equipment and food.
